Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Ford Escape is available in five trim levels. The available trims are the base model, Active, ST-Line, Platinum, and Plug-In Hybrid. The grille has received an update for the 2023 edition, giving the outer appearance a more dynamic and aggressive look. The headlights are narrower, making the front face of the vehicle more rugged with stronger lines. The modernized and aesthetically appealing exterior is available in different colors in the ST-Line, including lower-trim accents.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Escape offers a wide range of powertrains, which is ideal for both weekend warriors and daily commuters. The right powertrain for your needs can make any trip an adventure. The base level features a 181 horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that is offered in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The plug-in Escape hybrid runs on a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors, a set-up that provides 210 horsepower. The gasoline engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid models employ a continuously variable transmission.
Performance
The 2023 Ford Escape engines all provide the power you need and an adequate acceleration rate. While the available 250 horsepower turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine is an attractive upgrade, it may not be necessary for your driving needs. The Escape features torque vectoring, which provides better traction by varying the power sent to each wheel.
Interior
The interior of the 2023 Ford Escape is sleekly styled and provides ample space for both front and rear seat passengers. The interior plastics on the lower trim are easy to clean and provided a durable surface while the high-end materials, featured on the Platinum and ST-Line models, provide a superior aesthetic. The soft cloth upholstery is of high-quality, and the faux-leather, which is standard on the Premium trim, feels smooth and luxurious. An eight-inch infotainment flat-screen is standard on the base model with an available upgrade to a 13.2-inch touchscreen display on other trims. Ford's interface is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety Features
Standard on many vehicles, Ford has a collection of driver-assist features called Co-Pilot360. This suite is standard on all Ford Escapes. Some central driver assistance technology you can expect on a 2023 Escape includes lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking and forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Available automatic high-beam headlights also use light sensors to help illuminate the road in low-light situations or tone down the brightness for oncoming traffic.
