4 Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Moncks Corner, SC

1. Old Santee Canal Park

Whether springtime has given you a yearning for the outdoors, or a desire to learn something new, the Old Santee Canal Park is a great place to reconnect with your local environment. Located at 900 Stony Landing Road, the park has 195 acres of natural and local history to explore. You can mosey through four miles of Biggin Creek on the boardwalks, or explore the 1843 Stony Landing House. The park is open every day from 9am to 5pm.

2. Pimlico Plantation Spring Community Yard Sale

After a long winter, spring brings the opportunity to streamline your life, clear out the closets, and freshen up tired décor, making it the best time for a yard sale. Pimlico Plantation, located off Cypress Gardens Road between Moncks Corner and Goose Creek, will be hosting a yard sale on April 29. Between 30 to 50 houses will be participating from 8am.

Stop by to browse for the best bargains, and remember to leave the bed of your Ford F-150 free so that you can carry your larger purchases home.

3. Cypress Gardens

Whether you want to enjoy the swamps and gardens through 3.5 miles of trails, or learn more about wildlife in the butterfly house, aquarium, and bird exhibit, Cypress Gardens is a wonderful place for the whole family to engage with the natural world.

Located at 3030 Cypress Gardens Road and open from 9am to 5pm every day, the site also offers a variety of activities, such as the torchlit boat rides on May 12, or the ukelele festival on May 13. Take a look at the schedule and come on down to welcome in the spring.

4. Annual Food Truck Rodeo

Nothing says spring like eating in the open air, and you’ll have the chance on May 27 from 10am to 6pm with the annual fundraising Food Truck Rodeo in aid of the Berkeley Animal Center. As well as an array of tasty treats from local food vendors, there will be a petting zoo and you’ll also be able to meet the adorable residents of two rescue centers.

The event will be held at 418 East Main Street, and will feature shopping, craft stalls, activities for the kids, and a dunk tank for local celebrities and politicians. Be sure to come along and join in the fun.
