Exploring the Trim Levels of the 2025 Ford Expedition

The 2025 Ford Expedition has four available trims. There are Expedition MAX versions of the Active, Platinum, and King Ranch models. The MAX models have a longer wheelbase than the regular Expedition, but the rest of their features are the same as their non-MAX counterparts, excluding their towing capacity.

Active

The base trim has a lot of features shared by all Expedition models. This includes a range of driver-assist technologies, the 13.2-inch infotainment system with a Wi-Fi hotspot and smartphone compatibility, and an impressive towing capacity. This trim comes with a 24-inch digital instrument panel and a versatile Flex Powered Console. For premium comfort, you can also enjoy a 10-way power driver’s seat.

Platinum

From the Platinum and up, four-wheel drive is standard rather than optional. This trim lets you get either second row captain’s chairs or a bench seat to accommodate either seven or eight people. It has leather upholstery, ventilation for the front seats, and multi-color ambient lighting for the cabin. It also has power-deployable running boards.

Tremor

The Tremor is the ideal trim for people who like exploring. It doesn’t have the power running boards from the previous trim, but it has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost high-output engine, fuel tank underbody protection, modified Raptor skid plates, a modified higher ride suspension with premium passive shocks, and several other features that are perfect for off-road exploration.

Front tow hooks, all-terrain tires, and a locking rear differential are more of its standard, adventure-ready features.

King Ranch

The King Ranch lacks the Tremor’s off-road-focused features. It also switches back to the regular version of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. It enhances your ride by adding adaptive suspension dampers to make the vehicle’s handling even more stable. It also adds a touch of flashiness with its 22-inch bronze-colored wheels and bronze exterior accents. Inside, it adds a 22-speaker B&O® sound system and Del Rio leather upholstery.
